Get ready to transfer a number to AT&T

Helpful tips

  • Don't cancel your current service! We'll take care of that when you activate your new device.
  • We may charge a one-time transfer fee, or an activation fee, for each new line of service.

Make sure your number is eligible

To start, make sure your number's eligible to transfer. Then you'll have to share info about your current account to start the transfer process. Any wrong info will delay your service provider from releasing your number to AT&T.

Check a recent monthly bill or sign in to your current account to verify:

  • Number you want to transfer. Make sure it is active.
  • Account number
  • Number transfer pin
    • For Verizon, dial #Port from your device or log in to your app.
    • For T-Mobile, dial 611 from your device or log in to your app.
    • For Metro PCS, dial 611 from your device or log in to your app.
    • For Cricket, dial *PORT/*PORTAR from your device or log in to your app.
    • For Tracfone, Straight Talk, Net10, Total Wireless, Simple Mobile, Walmart Family Mobile, text NTP to 611611.
  • Or account passcode (for service providers that don't require a number transfer pin)
  • Account Zip Code
