Hello Jpanelli, we're here to help you pay off you installment plan.

We understand the impact of making a payment and receiving an error. You can pay off your balance, or pay to upgrade smartphones, tablets, wearables, accessories, or basic phones.

Here's how to check and pay your balance:
  1. Go to Installment plan details. Sign in if asked. If you have more than one device, select the one you want to view.
  2. Select Make a plan payment to pay off your device. Or pay the amount needed to upgrade, if applicable.

Important details

  • Once submitted, payments are final and can't be reversed.
  • You may be able to unlock your device after you pay off its installment plan. Get info about device unlock eligibility
  • We don’t accept extra monthly payments on installment balances. But you can pay off your full remaining balance at any time.
  • You may have a turn-in-eligible plan like AT&T Next Up. If so, you may want to consider turning in your smartphone and upgrading to a new device instead.

Feel free to reach back out if you have any other questions or concerns.

Where did you get the phone? If you purchased it thru a third party then only the original owner can pay off the balance.

What ATTHelp posted was correct IF YOU were the original owner with the unpaid balance. If you purchased a phone from the "owner" not knowing there was an unpaid balance it sounds like you may have been scammed. You can not pay off a previous owner's balance, and AT&T can't tell you what is owed (privacy reasons). You need to either talk to the original owner to verify that there is an unpaid balance on it, and have him/her pay it off or better yet, get your money back.
